So, BrightSparks has this Bright Idea of sending us students some ads every now and then. And the most recent one, just a few hours ago:

Ever since Microsoft updated their Windows Live Messenger a few weeks ago, I’ve been irritated by the ads that they deliver at the bottom of the Messenger screen. It’s like screaming out the stupidity of MSN to me.

Not that the ads are such a bad thing. They deliver news, and it’s a smart way for Microsoft to earn money while we can use the service for free. But the quality of content they deliver is utter rubbish.

A few weeks ago, they were feeding news articles about the largest crocodile, the largest snake, the world’s tallest woman and other weird but interesting info. Not bad, you might say, EXCEPT THAT THE ARTICLES WERE FROM 1997 OR SOMETHING.

Okay, so they deliver decade-old news to us, and make it sound recent by not mentioning the date.

That was a few weeks ago. Now, the news are more recent, but the quality of the wordings make me wanna punch the people who type the news in.
