If not for A-Levels starting in 3 days, I would have dressed up as the Economy or Lehman Brothers, giving out White Rabbit candy.
Happy Halloween folks.

The comic’s gonna be pretty hard to understand without looking through at once, so here’s the full thing. It’s still quite hard to catch though, so I’ve included some additional bits of info below.
The whole thing’s really subtle, and you’ll need a fair bit of knowledge about the various school stereotypes in Singapore. Try to spot ‘em!
Enjoy! Kudos to the creators. It’s pure genius.

Minion: When that fake ang moh’s coming, boss? We’ve been waiting so long, that everyone is almost falling asleep!
Boss: I’m sure that fake ang moh will keep his promise…The goods should be here soon.
HCI Godfather: What’s taking so long? Half my (cigarette) stick is gone already!
Part II!
Part III!
~ ~ ~
Got it?
Well, the focus is about recreating the schools of Singapore as warring gangs in an imaginary 1950s America.
HCI - the Chinese triads
River Valley - the Chinatown bookies/money launderers
RI - Cops
SJI - The Irish Catholic Mob
SCGS - Evil manipulative femmes fatales
St Nicks - Stoolpigeons and information traders (gossip queens)
NJC - Nazi Jaguar Corps. Note the initials.
The Funorama - The biennial fund raising of ACJC. Appears as casino in Atlantic City, note the initials of “Atlantic City”.
The ACSian - As himself, although from which of the 6 ACS schools, we don’t know. We certainly hope it’s not the Primary.
And well, it goes even further than that.
Everyone in the comic has a movie star.
Xavier—-Burt Lancaster
Cedric—-Robert Stack
Giselle—-Emmy Rossum
The ACSian—-Richard Widmark
Triad Boss—-Chow Yun Fatt
General Alwin—-Paul Scofield
Sam—-Kirsten Dunst
Chef Mou—-Ge You
And with that, here’s a summary for you to make sense of the comic:
This is told in chronologically linear form, but the strip is not chronologically linear and uses flashbacks.
Xavier is a member of the St Joe Boys, an Irish Catholic gang. A few years ago he took a job as a plumber when he was destitute and fell in love with Giselle, the evil girl who sings at the Yin Yang Club, who seduced him. Her boyfriend though was the ACSian, a smuggler who up till now, has made his trade mostly in cocaine. However, bad girl Giselle is also the daughter of Colonel Graham, a late bigshot involved in some kind of matters of national security and intelligence, and she has helped to get out her father’s secret: a list of covert agents, so that her boyfriend can sell it to numerous clients including the Chinese triads, Nazis etc. for a fortune. Xavier does not know this and wants to save her after she makes up lies to him about being mistreated. So he gets carte blanche from his Boss to exact his revenge, upsetting the balance of power between gangs.
Using information from a stoolie(women who sell information within the underworld). He crashes a deal that the ACSian is about to make with the Chinese triads, which startles the Chinese triad boss who realizes that his brothers (the victims) were trying to cut a deal with someone he considered unsavory. (After all, he can sell anything, just not cocaine.) The Chinese triad boss has also had eyes on Giselle for a while and decides to use this chance to get her. With the police in his pocket, he uses the ongoing investigations as a means to interfere.
Det. Cedric Griffin, a rogue cop that has no problem hanging out with crooks because he is a high school pal of Xavier’s, has been on the case of the ACSian for a while and has caught on that he might be selling something else other than cocaine, which is national secrets. Therefore he gladly gets Xavier to join him on a raid to where he has heard the ACSian would start a deal next: with some ex-Nazis seeking to build the Fourth Reich.
However, after a smooth start where the Nazis are rounded up and resistance put down, Cedric and Xavier realize they have been double-crossed. The Commissioner, who is in the pocket of the Chinese triad boss, turns on them, paving the way for the Chinese triad boss to get Giselle, who has by now killed her boyfriend in a quarrel.
The Chinese triad boss and Giselle go to Atlantic City for a nice weekend in the Funorama Hotel…and there he wonders if she really loves him, or if he is really her next victim…
And that’s the storyline.

By the way, for those for you who are unimaginably excited to enlist for NS and have not received your ‘letter of invitation’, like myself, you can check the enlistment date online.
