NOTICE
On the 19th of September 2007, HELiXATED.COM was taken offline due to... I should say, disciplinary issues concerning the owner. Almost exactly a month after the incident, I have decided to revive this blog
in its all-new glory. Relevant changes had to be made.
An account registration system has been implemented. While public posts will still be made, more private and sensitive issues
require an account to view. Registration is simple. Just refer to the... stuffs, on the left. Upon registering, I'll have to approve your account based first. I'll only accept people who I know, friends of people who I know, and friends of friends of people who I know... and that's pretty much everyone. Eh.
Oh and one more thing. This is a disclaimer that everything and anything mentioned on this blog
COMPLETELY does not reflect the opinion of the owner. All characters and events
described in this blog are fictional. The ideas and characters are
the figments of my imagination, and any resemblance to real life people, either
living or dead, is purely coincidental. Don't believe in anything.
Unless, of course, I tell you to do so.
Cheers!

Urban Legend Revisited
I just came across this urban legend again, and perhaps a number of you might have already heard/seen it before. It’s quite a few years old, but it’s still good after so long. And quite an actual story the last I heard.
Dr. Schambaugh, of the University of Oklahoma School of Chemical Engineering, Final Exam question for May of 1997. Dr. Schambaugh is known for asking questions such as, "why do airplanes fly?" on his final exams. His one and only final exam question in May 1997 for his Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer II class was: "Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Support your answer with proof."
Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle’s Law or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:
"First, We postulate that if souls exist, then they must have some mass. If they do, then a mole of souls can also have a mass. So, at what rate are souls moving into hell and at what rate are souls leaving? I think we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell, it will not leave.
Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for souls entering hell, let’s look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, then you will go to hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all people and souls go to hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in hell to increase exponentially.
Now, we look at the rate of change in volume in hell. Boyle’s Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in hell to stay the same, the ratio of the mass of souls and volume needs to stay constant. Two options exist:
1. If hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter hell, then the temperature and pressure in hell will increase until all hell breaks loose.
2. If hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until hell freezes over.
So which is it? If we accept the quote given to me by Theresa Manyan during Freshman year, "that it will be a cold night in hell before I sleep with you" and take into account the fact that I still have NOT succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then Option 2 cannot be true…Thus, hell is exothermic."
The student, Tim Graham, got the only A.

A Little Randomness
You know, after sometime of reading about the terrifying life of a typical 16-17 year old, you could use a little randomness.
So now, I present to you, A Little Randomness; And more importantly, a break from my highly-emo life.
So right. Most of you might have watched Pirates III. YAARRR!
But perhaps what we fail to realise in many CGI intensive movies like this, is that

And for those of you like me, who couldn’t stand the 3 hours of film and rushed for a washroom. I’d bet you missed the post-credits scene.
So the link to watch a poorly handphone recorded version of it is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXgO98C743c
It’s nothing much. You wait 15-20 mins for the idiotic credits to end, stupid producers and actors and everyone else wants a piece of the credits for themselves, and at the end of it, you’re treated to a 1 minute scene of Will and Elizabeth having a son, and the latter 2 saw the green flash and Will sailing on the Dutchman. Rated L for Lame.
And just a couple of hours ago, while I was playing C&C3, Dongwei and Shuwei had a convo with me ‘cos we recently had an overnight stargazing at BP. It’s a pretty spooky place with lots of history, so the alumni had this much to say:
[It's already summarised]
I added pictures of thoughts that were in my mind as I read the convo.

ZOMG HOLIDAAAAYS. Not.
Students around Singapore rejoiced yesterday. Ahh, the last day of school; The holidays have arrived.
My day was pretty awesome and eventful as well.
Had to go school to appear on stage, then being excused for the entire day to celebrate the bowling team’s achievements. We went down to Orchard just to watch Pirates of the Carribean. Won’t spoil it for ya this time, but it was alright… quite good actually… but irritatingly long. Shouldn’t have bought drinks. Bleargh. And because it was a weekday morning, the cinema was incredibly empty for the show.
Later that evening was stargazing at BP. I looked forward to it, expecting it to be great, but nyah. On top of other factors, I didn’t enjoy it totally cos I don’t really understand the dedication of the astro members - how little effort they put in, how uninterested they are, and how unserious they are. There’s nothing wrong with that cos that’s the kinda of dedication I put into Chinese ^^ I’m not too sure what’s up with the leaders tho…
The sky was actually really good. Got Jupiter and M7/M6, attempted at a nebula or two but blah. I found out that soft drinks were really good stuffs to keep you high throughout a thirsty night. But other than the alumni and sec 4s, everyone else just died after 12am =___= I tried to keep stuffs going on, worked a bit, but mainly didn’t. So in the end, I gave up and had a nice long talk with the alumni. The selection of the teams were pretty difficult, and in the end, we just gave up and went with whoever who was there, altho some weren’t supposed to be. =/
Ah heck. I couldn’t survive breakfast at McDonald’s so I left for home and slept till 7pm. Yeah.
The following weeks of holidays aren’t so much of holidays for me. Astro competition, a stupid science camp, and term exams immediately after the holidays, it’s gotta suck.

TV Series
Aye, why must all the TV series have their season finales roughly at the same time? I mean, in the US whose broadcast I’m following.
Like,
Prison Break concluded a couple of weeks back. And the ending sucked, ‘cos there’ll be a season 3.
CSI just aired their finale last week and ended with the words in caps, "TO BE CONTINUED". I hate waiting. And it’s for like another half a year or so.
Simpsons’ finale was yesterday. Erm, it’s was alright. But still, it ended and that’s why it sucks.
Heroes too. And the finale was awfully weak. *SPOILERS DON’T READ* Peter walked up to Sylar and punched him in the face! I had waited all season far a serious super power battle between the two and he freakin’ punched him. Lame. *END OF SPOILERS; TOO BAD IF YOU READ*
And I’m left with Lost. Which season finale airs this week.
Afterwhich there’ll be a long, long drought of TV series to download. D’ow.

What a week
This week shall be declared as either Skipping School Week or Chinese Week. Those two are at the extreme ends of the spectrum of enjoyability, but they pretty much neutralise each other to give me a rather ordinary week.
Okay that totally didn’t make one bit of sense.
Skipping School Week because I have valid reasons to skip school everyday of the week ‘cept Friday. There’s bowling competition, there’s dental appointment, both capable of excusing me from class easily.
Chinese week because they threw the Chinese Orals and Listening Comprehension exams together this week. Crap.
And now that I think of this, I just lost my blogging momentum again. Double crap.
Oh, you see that new image thingamajig on the left? It’s cool. Click it.
Nah it’s just me trying out my luck at a popularity contest. I know I’ll lose, ah but what the heck.
