Prison Break

Posted by HELiX

Aww c’mon!

Prison Break’s gonna end up screwing up like Lost. Really.

I just watched the season finale of season 2 which just aired in the US. Yeah, waaay ahead of Singapore TV. Impatience, they call it.

And- and it seems, there WILL be a season 3. I mean, they broke out of prison in season 1, awesome plot, ran around for season 2, and what are they gonna do for season 3?

I’ll try not to be a spoiler here so stuffs will be intentionally vague. But with the season finale, many of those, er, problems were solved and what’s left wouldn’t last another season of 20 episodes I think.

I ain’t free

I find it incredibly difficult to sqeeze in a couple of minutes each day to blog due to the pile of homework, upcoming tests and more importantly, my laziness.

Woohoo.

And even if I were to blog, like now, it’s equally as difficult to find a topic to blog about. Random stuffs goes, so does my viewership.

But heck with that, so anyways, a few things.

1) ACAS

Me and DW successfully set up an astronomy society in ACJC. We had to promote it, so my entire monday night was spent doing up a 1 min 40 secs video that took 4 hour of tedious creation. Because of that, I’m one entire day behind in homework. DW did the video originally in powerpoint cos it’s much faster, but at certain points (eg. videos), there’s frames skipping and mild lag, so I tried to convert it to video format. Didn’t work, so in the end, I had to redo the entire thing in Premiere. I also gave designing the logo a shot (not that I have a choice, with 2 people in the CCA), and produced this:

ac-astro.jpg

I found it rather decent considering that I had no inspiration to begin with, and I wanted it to be way different from RJ’s and NJ’s ones which looked too similar. Heh.

Tomorrow’s the stargazing for recruitment, hopefully everything works out well.

2) Bowling

I can’t hook the bowling ball =( ’nuff said.

3) School life

Probably the most boring aspect of life to blog about, but I gotta add emphasis to Shaun’s, Jim’s and Kendrick’s point that ACJC Physics Dept is totally screwed. I almost had the first non-vlee detention of my life if not for the fact that I lied >.>

Let me be a Kok for once and… AHH! HOMEWORK! KTHXBYE.

It’s ’bout time for another entry, ya?

And so hopefully y’all would understand from my previous entry, I ain’t free. It’s the end of the weekend, I’ve got 2 math and 1 econs tutorials right there waiting for me, and I just gotta blog to keep my viewership.

So let’s talk about the past few days in general.

Weeell, thursday was Swim PE. Being the first session, it stupidly reminded me of Harry Potter, the part where he and everyone else got sorted in their respective houses. UHH YA LOL =___= We got sorted into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Beginner plays in the small pool, Advanced plays fun sports like water polo, and Intermediate is the dumbest of ‘em all, having you to swim laps.

Let’s just say that I haven’t submerge myself in water for a couple of years, so I ended up in Intermediate. DAMMIT! My leg cramped at the end of the whole thing, but thing especially when you’re swimming. Stupid laps…

Of course, it was still more fun than Chinese lessons. I mean, C’MON! I THOUGHT AC’S SUPPOSED TO SUCK AT CHINESE.

Let’s move on. Today’s April’s Fool. Whaaat’s my point?

There isn’t any.

It’s pretty much pointless when everyone realises that it’s April’s Fool Day, so you go about telling them something incredible, and they’ll know. It makes sense to use reverse psychology here, to make a guy to believe that you’re lying when you’re not. But 30 mins of April’s Fool is left, what the heck.

I’d actually wanted to come up with something really lame as a joke. Something to do with the lab. DW actually suggested that I do one about launching a rocket to space, but I thought of sub-orbital altitude would do to be slightly more realistic, but at the end of it, I was to lazy to begin with.

And next, Bowling!

The following paragraphs might sound dirty and obscene, but please think straight.

Ok, I’m in the team already. I still insist that straight balls are cool, but the coach is getting us to learn hooks. Thusly, we’re made to buy our own custom ball, ‘cos the hooking with house ball snaps your fingers.

Went down to Ken Pro Shop on Saturday, located in the Marine Bay area. He’s supposedly the best ball driller in Singapore, and since we’re his students, he gave us quite a fair discount. The basic package was $165 for ball, bag and shoes. We upgraded the shoes to a better pair, add $20. We upgraded the bag to a roller bag for 2 balls cos we’ll be using 2 balls in the future, add $55. We ended up paying $240. Yeah then that Ken guy measured my hand size, finger size, flexibility, blah blah blah and drilled the ball to fit it well. I tested it, and the ball wouldn’t come off the thumb! UH.

Ya so, this is it:

It’s just a miserable polyester ball, with not much difference from a house ball. Just that you won’t break your fingers hooking it. A reactive ball set would cost in the $400+, so I’ll make do with this ball for now.

Today, Sunday, was spent doing up the Tesla Coil. It’s taking damn long to construct, and I’m realising how big of a project it is. Materials are costly, the assembling and construction are tedious, and the theory isn’t that easy either.

I worked on the Capacitor Bank today. About 45 caps placed in 15-in-series with 3 rows, soldering was a pain. Drilling the acrylic to provide support for the capacitors was hell too.

Pictures in a while, ‘cos it’s not entire completed yet.

Another time then! Blame the stupid *nngh* homework.
