NOTICE
On the 19th of September 2007, HELiXATED.COM was taken offline due to... I should say, disciplinary issues concerning the owner. Almost exactly a month after the incident, I have decided to revive this blog
in its all-new glory. Relevant changes had to be made.
An account registration system has been implemented. While public posts will still be made, more private and sensitive issues
require an account to view. Registration is simple. Just refer to the... stuffs, on the left. Upon registering, I'll have to approve your account based first. I'll only accept people who I know, friends of people who I know, and friends of friends of people who I know... and that's pretty much everyone. Eh.
Oh and one more thing. This is a disclaimer that everything and anything mentioned on this blog
COMPLETELY does not reflect the opinion of the owner. All characters and events
described in this blog are fictional. The ideas and characters are
the figments of my imagination, and any resemblance to real life people, either
living or dead, is purely coincidental. Don't believe in anything.
Unless, of course, I tell you to do so.
Cheers!

Today, with a hint from Shaun, I flipped through Digital Life.

Laptop, it seems.
My Dad finally collected the laptop from Compaq, a Core 2 Duo T5500 cored one without a dedicated graphics card. It came with the MaxOnline 12000 plan we signed up for in December plus a few hundred bucks top-up for a better spec laptop. Sucks, but better than DongWei’s free Core Duo one WAHAHAHA. Ya, anyways, it raised the total number of computers (laptops included) at my home to 11. =D
Just how electronic is my home?
- 11 Computers (Including 3 laptops)
- 10 Monitors
- 17 Phones
- 10 Handphones
- 7 Printers
Uh. You get the idea.
Yes I love to brag, thank you very much.
…

5k Visits!
It’s like, 12.40am and I’m gonna rush through this entry because I was supposed to do this entry today (technically, yesterday), but somehow, I decided to draaaaaag. And, I love my sleep as well, so, here goes:
Okay, 2 really great things happen today:
5000 VISITS!!!
Thank you everyone! You have just wasted your life on reading about my life.
But actually, I wanted to have some sort of… special kinda feature for this. Get what I mean, ya? Like, say, a change of blogskin (no way! I spent two weeks on the current one) or at the very least, change of banner. Or even some significant update. But I’m so, so, so busy (who am I kiddin’) lazy that I spent the day watching CSI, so… ‘Kay lah. Another time. Maybe 6K visits or 7k visits or whatever. Basically, when I have the mood.
Sorry! >.<
GPS on Dopod!
Great electronic goodies don’t come free often. I just had one.
Apparently, in my Dopod D810, the manafacturer (HTC) installed a GPS (Global Positioning System for those who don’t know) chip in every single device as a integrated feature, only to find that it conflicts with the GSM chip (which is required to make and receive calls), thus they disabled the GPS feature. Also, since the GPS feature is disabled, they sold the Dopod D810 at a cheaper price that doesn’t include the costs for the GPS function.
And now, they have fixed the conflict, and released a new ROM to upgrade your Dopod to have the GPS function — For FREE! Yeah, so today flashed the ROM and tested it out. It’s ZOMG COOL. Pictures in a while, but basically, the GPS connects to a few satellites, get your real-time coordinates with an accuracy of 98%. With a constant connection, you can find out your speed, and I’ve just downloaded this program with the Singapore Map, so my location is pinpoint exactly on the map. ZOMG COOL.

OHH NOOESS.
“Punching home a message that Midway is coming to the next-generation with a full stable of goods, the Chicago-based publisher today announced that the game formerly known as Unreal Tournament 2007 is now Unreal Tournament 3. And it’s coming to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in the second half of 2007.
Using the Unreal Engine 3 (what other engine would it really use?), Epic’s seminal first-person shooter will douse gamers with gorgeous, life-like graphics, arm them with unbelievable futuristic and brutal weaponry, and hurl them into online deathmatches like never before.
The new game comprises a vast number of changes from increased aggressiveness and intelligence in the AI to better, more ridiculously powerful weapons to new characters, game modes, and online improvements. New weapons are highlighted by the long-range Shock Rifle and the shorter range Flack Cannon, and more than two dozen weapons will be ready to wield when UT3 is ready in the second half of 2007.
The new single-player campaign is deeper and more engaging than before, and players will be happy to know that old favorite characters have returned and are joined by several new ones. Epic plans to provide advanced online changes to suit all three platforms, bringing seamless loading, improved matchmaking and co-operative campaign online play. Yes, cooperative online play indeed. Familiar online modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag will be joined by an all-new Warfare mode among others. And PC gamers will be happy to get their sweaty mitts on the bundled Unreal Engine Toolset, enabling them to build their own levels, game types, rules, mods, and more.”

Further Projects?
You might ask… what’s in for Lab@Home after the airgun, flamethrower, etc?
Well, I hope to accomplish these projects for Lab@Home this year:
1. Tesla Coil
2. Phase-Change Refrigeration Cooling System (for High Performance Computing World-Records =D)
3. Ballistic Gel
4. Any more doable projects that you’d like to see? Let me on my (dying) tagboard! Of course, make them POSSIBLE projects for me, not some crap like Nitroglycerin or an AK-74.
And also, does anyone wanna help me? It’s irritatingly tedious to find the construction materials alone, and don’t even get me started on building them…
